Configure Runtime Settings
You can change the port number the server is using for communications. You can also change the vCenter Server ID and the vCenter Server Managed IP address. Usually, you do not need to change these settings, but you might need to make changes if you run multiple vCenter Server systems in the same environment.

You can configure the timeout intervals for vCenter Server operations. These intervals specify the amount of time after which the vSphere Client times out.

You can configure the maximum number of database connections that can occur simultaneously.
Configure Database Retention Policy
In order to limit the growth of the vCenter Server database and conserve storage space, you can configure the database to discard information about tasks or events after a specified period of time.
Configure SSL Settings
Determine the host thumbprint for each host that requires validation.
a. Log into the direct console.
b. Select View Support Information on the System Customization menu.
The thumbprint is displayed in the column on the right highlighted below
Compare the thumbprint you obtained as seen in the vCenter Server Settings dialog box
If the thumbprints match, select the check box for the host.
Note Hosts that are not selected will be disconnected after you click OK.
Configure Advanced Settings
You can use the Advanced Settings page to modify the vCenter Server configuration file, vpxd.cfg. This page can be used to add entries to the vpxd.cfg file, but not to edit or delete them
